Memorable London Tours for Everyone

London is a very exciting city to visit, it has little bits of history, nature, and culture from several time periods, all crammed into one city, along with great food, and shopping too.  Your first visit to London can be quite bewildering – there is so much to see, and it can be difficult to work out what to do and where to go.  A London tour can help you make the most of your time in the city, and make sure you spend more time having fun, and less time feeling lost.

Places to See

There are several attractions that are the highlights in most London tours. There are several museums and galleries that may pique your interest in London tours but the some of the more iconic attractions are the Tower Bridge, the London Eye, Piccadilly Circus, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben and many more.

The Tower Bridge is a significant piece of British architecture, and serves as a bridge even now.  The London Eye is a modern, controversial monument – a huge ferris wheel which gives you an incredible view of the city.  If the weather is right, it is well worth a ride.  Many tours also include other attractions such as Piccadilly Circus and Westminster Abbey.

London tours typically include sights that highlight British culture and history.  If you are interested in England and its history then you will enjoy seeing the sights of the capital.  Usually, the tours are taken by bus – often a traditional red London bus.  You will likely be in a group with several other tourists with you.

The culture and heritage of London is very palpable and diverse. Many tourists who take several London tours may experience the life that is London as they tour the city. Other tourist attractions are the palaces that belong to the British monarchy. Buckingham and Kensington are several palaces of the British monarchy that is sure to interest tourist since you might even catch a glimpse of a royal or two as they go about their daily lives.

You can also explore London using the train system and the London Underground.  There are lots of interesting places outside of the city center, although there are fewer tours running as you leave the main areas.  The tours tend to start early and finish in the late afternoon.  Very occasionally there are special night time tours.  London is a relatively safe city, but it has a high population and there is some risk of crime – just like in any other popular tourist location.  Always keep your belongings with you, and don't go off exploring late in the evening unless you have people with you.

All in all, a London tour is a great way to get a taste of British culture, and hopefully have fun and meet some interesting fellow tourists.

I live in the UK and visit London quite a lot, and I'd like to stress that it is important to shop around for your tours - it is sometimes (depending on the time of year) cheaper for me to take a coach trip and tour of London (which offers me transportation to London, and the tour), than it is for me to buy a tour from one of the main tour operators in London. The tours on the big red busses may be the 'original' ones, but they are very expensive, and there are lots of other tour companies that offer just as good a tour at a much lower price.
