Explore Florence on Your Tour of Italy
Florence is one of the most interesting places in Italy, and a place that is well worth visiting if you happen to be taking a tour of the country. Some people believe that Florence is one of the most beautiful places in Europe, and this could well be true as it has amazing architecture, and some wonderful cuisine.
Things to Do in Florence
Before you go on your tour of Italy, do a little research into the places you could visit – Florence is one of the 'must see' places, so try to find out about the area and make a list of the places in Florence that appeal to you the most so that you can try to fit them into your itinerary.
Some of the places which should be in your list are the Cathedrale de Santa Maria del Fiore, the Baptistery of John the Baptist, the Campanile, Piazza della Signoria and Palazzo Vecchio, the Galleria degli Uffizi, the Galleria dell’ Academia, the Boboli Garden and Pitti Palace, the Santa Croce and the Ponte Vecchio. These places are some of the most popular tourists’ destinations in Florence so you will not really have so much trouble finding them. A map and a guide book can also help you find these places with ease.
It is best to start your visit to Florence early in the day, as the summer heat can get quite unbearable around midday, so you may want to pause for a while to seek some shade and refreshment. The earlier you start, the more time you have to enjoy yourself, and the more places you can explore.
Most interesting places in Florence open quite early, so you should not have much of a problem finding things to do in the morning. As an example, the Boboli Garden open just after 8AM, so you can grab a quick breakfast and get straight down to exploring.
