Popular Tourist Attractions In Italy

Italy is a country in Southern Europe – it borders on to France, Switzerland, Slovenia and Austria.  It is a beautiful country with a rich history and a lot of interesting places to see.  The capital city is Rome, which is the seat of the Catholic Church.  Other popular parts of Italy include Venice and Milan.

Tours of Italy are sure to offer a lot to the tourists and visitors of the country because Italy is the only country with the most UNESCO World Heritage Sites. It has 41 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the country and it contributed a lot to the culture and heritage of its neighboring countries.

Many tours of Italy start of with art galleries – Italy has produced a lot of famous artists – including Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Donatello, Raphael, and others such as Tintoretto, Titian, and Caravaggio – there are museums devoted to these artists and no visit to Italy is complete without seeing at least some of these galleries.

Rome is one of the most beautiful cities in the world so make sure that you include it in tours of Italy itinerary or even spend an entire vacation there. This city is so culturally rich and the history there is almost tangible. Another city worth visiting is Venice – the romance capital of the world.  Venice is mostly submerged in water, and has a number of canals running through the city.  Visitors can take gondola rides around the city, either as a tour, or just a romantic way to relax and enjoy the scenery.  Venice features a rich history, beautiful scenery, and a lot of interesting architecture.

Don't just stick to the big cities if you go to Italy - head out to the country side and it will feel like you are visiting two countries for the price of one! Take some wine tours, explore the scenery, talk to the locals, and really get a feel for the culture away from the glamour and glitz.  Italy has a wonderful culture, and some warm, friendly people - sure, the cities are nice, but the real beauties are a little futher away.
