Grand Canyon Tours: Exploring the Northern Rim
There are several trails leading through the inner canyon like the North Kaibab Trail that links with Bright Angel Trail. The trails may descend deep into the gorge while others lead to a steep climb to the South Rim. The Backcountry Office asks for permits from hikers before they are allowed to overnight below the rim. Another notable site is Jacob Lake which is very ideal for camping and hiking since it has a variety of wildlife and vegetation.
Other Attractions
El Tovar Hotel is one of the oldest lodges in the Grand Canyon National Park. The structure is made of Oregon pine and natural stone and has been standing long before the Grand Canyon was made into a national park. Thunderbird Lodge is at the South Rim very near Bright Angel Lodge featuring some rooms with spectacular views of the great gorge. It is a sister lodge of the Kachina Lodge, complete with amenities plus a kennel area for pets.
Hualapai Hilltop is one great place where tourists will enjoy knowing more about ancient Native American culture. Visitors may trek 8 miles from the hilltop to Supai on the Havasupai Indian Reservation. Supai is a traditional Native American village. There are many natural attractions along the way as well like Havasu Creek, Havasu Falls and many more.
Grand Canyon tours usually cost around $200 per person whether they’re coming in from the North or South Rim. Entrance fee to the park costs $20 for each individual plus $10 for each vehicle. Costs will rise as visitors stay longer due to accommodations, meals, activities and use of facilities. One thing is for sure, regardless of the cost of your Grand Canyon tour, you will be conceived that it was money well spent for such an unforgettable experience.
