I would love to go to Hong Kong one day.   I'm suprised December is a cheap time though, for some reason I thought that it would be flooded with people heading off for a New Year vacation. I'll keep my eye on the prices this year. How expensive is Hong Kong for visitors?  Are hotel stays cheap?  What about food and tourist attractions?  I was pricing up Japan and that seems like you could have fun on a budget, hopefully it will be similar in Hong Kong.

Being able to stretch your money so that you can get more activities for the same price is a key to any vacation. Never thought of taking a tour or using a discount club in order to be able to go to hong kong. I think that those would be a wonderful way to be able to go while having the option to get to do more, if even for less time than you would on your own.
