Discover The Joys Of Tuscany Wine Tours

The Chianti is perhaps one of the most well known Italian wines.  A wine tour in Tuscany will likely focus heavily on it, and center on Florence.  When choosing your tour, it is worth looking at the vineyards that you will be visiting, and checking the cost and how long the tour will take.

Tuscany Wine tours are usually a day long event – starting around 9 in the morning, and ending at six in the evening.  Tours start at around 200 Euros, but some can be far more expensive.  You usually get transportation and a guide for your money, and the more people that join the tour / the bigger the van, the less each person is likely to have to pay. Most of the better tours include lunch and the wine as part of the fee.

There are also evening wine tours in Tuscany.  The events of wine tasting and dinner are spectacularly merged with dinner facing the vineyard. These occasions are extremely memorable for the guests attending the dinner.  Of course there are all forms of wine tours in Tuscany available and may include chauffeured limousines and individualized service. The choice is, of course, all dependent on your needs and budget.  The second component of the decision is the vineyard and the wine.

Sampling The Perfect Chianti

Wines which are made from the fermented grapes of the sangiovese vines are known as Chiantis.  These grapes are grown in the region between Florence and Siena and are a common favorite for Tuscany wine tours.  Usually, the wines are red, but there are a couple of exceptional white wines to be found in the region.

Taking Your Wine Tour

If you are taking a day long tour, be prepared to have to do a little hiking.  If the tour is in the evening then make sure you are dressed for the occasion – the weather can vary depending on the season.  Follow the drivers guidelines and be ready to be picked up on time so that you are not stranded.

No matter what time of year you take the tour, you can expect some breathtaking scenery – either rolling hills and wonderful views for miles around, or the spectacular sea of purple grapes all around.
