Are You A Wine Enthusiast?
Red Wine
Red wine is said to aid digestion, as well as help keep your arteries and heart healthy. Red wine also enhances the flavor of certain foods. Fans of red wine often like to talk about the 'legs' and 'body' of their wine, and enjoy the full flavor and texture that red wine has to offer.
White Wines
White wine has a very crisp, and sometimes dry taste. White wine enthusiasts like to talk about the clarity, color, and oak flavor as they enjoy their wines. Often, white wines are used in the early stages of the wine to prepare the taste buds for the meat of fish that will follow. White wines are also suitable for some deserts.
The 'Wino'
A Wino, in this context, is someone who will drink either wine as long as it tastes good. They still like to learn about the wines, how they are made, and what they are most suited for, but they do not prefer one kind of wine over the other. They often 'mature' in their hobby and become wine experts once they learn more.

I'm not a wine enthusiast, although I know more about wines than a casual drinker – I had to learn for my job. It's amazing how seriously people who really do like wine take their hobby. I have to order certain food /drinks for conferences that get a lot of visitors who are 'vips' – why the caterers don't make the choices themselves I have no idea – perhaps they are scared of making a wine faux pas. Anyway – if I'd had a short rule of thumb article like this at hand when I'd started my job, it would have saved a few blushes.
