A tour of the grand canyon would be incomplete without visiting the northern rim.   The highlight of attractions is the Kaibab National Forest.  It  comes alive in the fall when aspen tree leaves turn into a variety of browns, yellows and golds. The Grand Canyon Lodge is a majestic hotel serving as the visitor center for those coming in from the North Rim. The lodge is also the place where people book fun activities like trailing, mule riding and camping. There are more facilities situated around the spot. A small distance away is Bright Angel Point which is most popular for its scenic views of the Grand Canyon at sunrise and sunset.

There are several trails leading through the inner canyon like the North Kaibab Trail that links with Bright Angel Trail. The trails may descend deep into the gorge while others lead to a steep climb to the South Rim. The Backcountry Office asks for permits from hikers before they are allowed to overnight below the rim.
